Llafranc is one of three coastal towns belonging to the municipality of ,Palafrugell province of Girona, Spain, the other two being Calella de Palafrugell and Tamariu. It is part of the Costa Brava, the coastal region of northeastern Catalonia, in the comarca of Baix Empordà.
The combination of a good summer climate and beaches is exploited for both domestic and international tourism.
Within easy walking distance of other, similar towns, such as Calella de Palafrugell, a trip to this stretch of the Costa Brava offers more than just one beach or promenade. A true delight in summer with a very pleasant ambience.
Llafranc is considered a luxury in the northern part of Spain. Some call it the "Laguna Beach" of Spain due to the rich, beautiful people and amazing homes. The small shops around town are gorgeous offering in-style clothes, great restaurants, and fun entertainment.
The Hotel Llafranc dominates the main sea promenade and was popular with artists such as Salvador Dali and Ernest Hemingway. The English writer Tom Sharpe is also a resident of Llafranc.
El Far is the most popular residence in Llafranc, located 1.5 km north of the beach on a steep hill overlooking the beach and town. El Far has a lighthouse, hotel and large development with communal pool.

The Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol, open to the public since 1996, allows visitors to discover a medieval building in which Salvador Dalí lent material form to an exuberant creative effort with his mind set on one person, Gala.

The Dalí Theatre-Museum, the largest surrealistic object in the world, occupies the building of the former Municipal Theatre, a 19th century construction which was destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War. On its ruins, Dalí decided to create his museum.



Begur:

Located in the heart of Empordà, the town of Begur and its beaches are one of the most wonderful spots on the Costa Brava. The town boundary takes in the impressive hills of the Begur Massif and an extensive coastline washed by the Mediterranean sea. Begur’s old town, home to numerous monuments left as legacies of significant moments in the town's history, together with its eight coves and small beaches, and the Romanesque centre of the village of Esclanyà, make it and its peerless natural surroundings an unbeatable place to visit.

Despite of its touristic character, the village has an important historical remnants that go back in early history. The castle of Begur is a good example of medieval remains. The castle was constructed in the 16th and 17th century.

Some of the most prestigious beaches of the Costa Brava can be found here: Sa Riera, Aiguafreda, sa Tuna, Platja Fonda, Fornells and Aiguablava. The latter is also home to a Parador Hotel.
